A huge inspiration to John Carpenter, who later went on to remake it as The Thing in 1982. But is that really a remake? It's more like a retelling of the novella Who Goes There? from 1938. Steve and Travis talk about adaptation in media, and how different eras can produce a very different film, but with similar stories. So, is it fair to call this movie an "unfaithful" adaptation?
