6 - My Sweat is Just as Important as My Tears w/ JADE PEEK

In this week’s episode of What’s Your Safe Word? Shelleena is joined once again by our lovely Nneka! Even more exciting though, is that this week we are welcoming our very first guest to the show, JADE PEEK (@KweJade / @jadethediva)!! Jade is a Mi’kmaq and Black Nova Scotian trans woman from Halifax. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, educator, and activist. She is known for also being a community organizer in K’jipuktuk, Mi'kma'ki, creating community, artistic and educational spaces and hubs, and has been an active player in the national student movement. After our weekly check in, our cohosts cozy up with the incredible Jade to learn more about her life, her stance on advocacy, and why we need more accomplices instead of allies.

This week we’re drinking Adamo Winery 2017 Whip’d White Blend. We gave this wine a buzz rating of 3.5/5.
