Charisse Beaumont

Charisse Beaumont is the Chief Executive of Black Lives in Music, a research and advocacy organisation advocating for black music creators and industry professionals. In this episode Charisse talks about the work that BLIM have been doing, the first research to be done on the experience of black people in the music industry, which highlights that black women are the most disadvantaged in the music industry. We talk about the pressure of being ‘the first’ and the sense of responsibility that comes with this kind of work.
