Shiraz is the hero variety most associated with the region but some of Australia's finest Cabernet Sauvignon is made in the Barossa. The Barossa is even home to what is thought to be the oldest continuously producing Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the world at Penfolds Kalimna vineyard.
