WHU 105: Getting a coach. Why my coach makes all the difference to my commitment to exercise.
Real Integrative Medicine with Dr. Jordan Robertson ND - A podcast by Dr. Jordan Robertson ND
I think when people see my weightlifting or exercise online they imagine that I blissfully waltz into my basement alone and hammer out reps loving every second of it. I must, right? Otherwise why would I do it? Here’s the secret. I don’t always love it. Actually, there is a huge percentage of the time that I don’t love the actual exercising. So what’s my secret to showing up for myself day after day? Let me introduce you to my coach: Michael D’Angelo (@coachmichael91) Michael and I have been working together for a short while, but during the “hardest” exercise moments of my life. He helped me go from crying in my basement back to my pre-pandemic strength in less than 4 months. In today’s conversation we talk about the importance of accountability, personalized support in your exercise and why it’s so damn hard to work out alone. I’m vulnerable about my own challenges with maintaining an exercise routine through the pandemic, and what the most “successful” exercisers have in common. This episode is brought to you by our new Fundamentals of Macronutrient Tracking course with our Nutritionist Carissa Stewart here at Clarity Health. Our 4 week introductory course moves people from being overwhelmed by their nutrition to feeling confident in the choices they are making. We know successful nutrition requires learning and accountability. You’ll get a hefty dose of both in this online program. Registration is open and classes start November 15. Join us here.
