WRC Backstories: Reeta Hämäläinen

Leading the positive trend of Finnish female co-drivers competing at the highest levels of rallying is Reeta Hämäläinen. Competing at national level for a numbers of years, Hämäläinen's breakthrough came in 2021 when she teamed up with Emil Lindholm. The now 35-year-old hasn't looked back and just one year later, was being crowned WRC2 World Champion in Japan. But there has not always been an upwards trend with Hämäläinen having to overcome some well documented personal challenges along the way. This is her story, as told to Becs Williams.
