Ina Joseph: Why I Chose a Career in PR
Your Brand Amplified - A podcast by Anika Jackson, Bleav
Categories:
Ina Joseph is a Journalism, Public Relations, and Women Studies graduate from Boston University. While in college, Ina’s activities ranged from directing a competitive dance team to introducing an organization for BIPOC and queer women (a spoken-word performance platform called Yoni Ki Baat) to her university, all while tackling her honors course load and staying engaged in the campus community. Since graduating in May 2020, Ina’s been actively advocating for racial equity in her Northern New Jersey community. After speaking in front of over 300 local residents of her town at a peaceful teach-in in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, local leadership and school districts have continued consulting with Ina on the importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Antiracism. In addition to community activism, Ina also uses her communication skills to amplify marginalized voices through her position representing business owners of color at Anika PR, and as editor of L'AMOURZINE - lingerie brand Amour Caché's online magazine for fostering dialogue around women's stories. The diversity of her experiences reflect the diversity of her interests; writing, reading, dancing, advocacy, fashion, amateur cooking and avid Netflix binging are just a few of Ina’s hobbies.
