It’s a Cardinal kinda week, astrologically speaking. Cardinal, for those who don’t know already, is a “quality,” a way of expression – a style, so to speak. The term is derived from the start of a season, and so, its means initiation, beginnings, leadership, starting, generating. With five planets in Cardinal signs - Cancer, Capricorn and Aries – it’s the sorta week where you really wanna be at the helm, navigating your own ship and calling the shots.

It’s a fiery kind of week, with three planets in fire signs — Sun in Leo, Mercury in Leo, and Mars in Aries — making all sorts of astrological moves! This invites passion, power, and inspiration — but also raises tempers to a fever pitch, pushes boundaries, and makes for an aggressive and perhaps even quite forceful time. As much as we may not always like to admit it, sometimes we are the ones in the driver’s seat calling the shots and throwing our weight around — right? With the Sun and Mercury in proud, bossy Leo, and Mars in warrior Aries, we want to push and push — and we’re not taking no for an answer! Whether this energy is reflected in your relationships, with your sweetheart, at home, or at the office, it’s important to check yourself before you wreck yourself — the mix of energies at play this week can be both destructive and constructive.

As if to start off with a bang, Mercury and Uranus meet in an electric, rebellious square, and the words that come out of our mouths might not be exactly what we meant to say — oops! But now that it’s out, can you see how the truth has a way of pouring out of the cracks, and even if what you heard or said was shocking, doesn’t it feel like a relief to have all of that off your chest? Phew! There’s room to breathe again. Plus, brilliant ideas also strike out of the blue when Mercury and Uranus meet up, so all is not lost! Following that comes a hard-hitting square between Mars and Pluto, and out of all the configurations this week, this is the one that can potentially open Pandora’s box. Pluto and Mars are inherently destructive and even a little violent, so don’t be surprised if you witness more aggression than usual. With verbal abuse or dark desires crawling out of the woodwork. This isn’t a savory transit, so if you’re feeling on the toxic side, go let that aggression out at the gym, try a boxing class, or channel that intense energy into something constructive.

Things flow way better after these two nasty hits, as the Sun and Mercury trine Mars, reflecting a desire to do exactly as you would like, and being able to accomplish just about anything your head can dream up. It’s not just about the talk — you will walk that walk, and actions will speak so much louder than words! Sure, you may come across as a bit strong, even if you’re normally a shy, shrinking violet, but this potentially can be a time where you finally set things in motion that you have been wanting to do for a long, long time! And as the Sun and Mercury join up in warm Leo, you’re ready to share what you’re really thinking with the world, your lover, your friends, or your family. It may come across as slightly narcissistic — it’s Leo season after all — but more likely you’ll be able to persuade the crowd to follow you wherever you go! This is a fantastic week to step up and be a leader, and take your place in the bright sunshine, sunshine!
