It’s a Cardinal kinda week, astrologically speaking. Cardinal, for those who don’t know already, is a “quality,” a way of expression – a style, so to speak. The term is derived from the start of a season, and so, its means initiation, beginnings, leadership, starting, generating. With five planets in Cardinal signs - Cancer, Capricorn and Aries – it’s the sorta week where you really wanna be at the helm, navigating your own ship and calling the shots.

Last week was a doozy, right? Right. This week, the planets are giving us a little break — heaven knows we need it! We’re dealing with a crazy year thus far, and we’re still in the midst of Mars Retrograde (only one more month to go!)

Mars is none to happy being slowed down in his home sign of Aries, and he’s exacting revenge by throwing tantrum-like squares to the Titans (Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto) in Capricorn.

This week, he goes head to head with Pluto, and boy, is it intense! This is not the first time — or the last — that these bad boys will be throwing their weight around. We’ll see this somewhat violent energy being reflected in society. For example, more fights may break out or toxic habits be revealed.

It’s important that we don’t ingest that poison ourselves. If a bad behavior starts showing itself — let’s say in our relationships specifically — acknowledge it with compassion and take hold of it. This is not a week to try and get into useless power struggles because nobody’s going to win, baby! You’ll just get tangled in a chaotic mess that, in the end, creates more drama than you ever wanted in the first place.

The upside is that Mercury ad Venus will be having a little chat to electric Uranus, inviting us to break out of the habitual patterns and dramas potentially created by the Mars-Pluto square. These aspects shine a light into the darkness, and offer unique solutions to old problems. Yahoo!

Take a moment, then, to think ahead, to think out of the box and invite progressiveness into a situation. There’s definitely a sense of newness and freedom in the air — specifically breaking free of destructive anger patterns. Or at least, the beginning of the journey.

On a much lighter note, for those looking for love, this week can be great for meeting someone special out of the blue. Will it last? Well, don’t worry about that right away. Just enjoy the moment and feel the wind in your hair! Let love be thrilling and live in the present, for now.

Last, but of course not least, the Sun in Libra casts a square to Jupiter in Capricorn, which could have you feeling all sorts of confident, but you’ll have to be mindful to not allow the confidence go to your head! Slow down, darling — plan ahead, go carefully, and remember your limits. Perhaps, in a burst of enthusiasm, you may overstep and push yourself just a little too far!
