small axe: sharpening the blade

small axe was borne of a desire to stimulate unbiased public discourse and encourage critique around reggae and dancehall music. it aims to simultaneously challenge and defend the genre and develop deeper critical thinking around the pervasive tropes and stereotypes in the culture. small axe is a safe space which welcomes opposing views and acknowledges non-problematic opinions. each week, i will also dissect what’s new and trending in politics and the arts in the diaspora. i’ll be joined by special guests from yaad and abroad for some serious reasonings.
