Breakups can often come with a lot of sadness over losing love, but also sadness over the time spent on the relationship. This sadness can turn into regret and feeling as though you have “wasted” the time with the person. Not to mention that this isn’t the way you wanted your life to go, right? We REALLY get it. We’ve been there. We’ve supported others who have been there and we have an approach to this question that is sure to help. This episode has two parts: First - we will explore alternative ways of looking at the timeline of life and love and how to be thankful for the time spent, regardless of how bad the breakup was. Second - it’s pen and paper time! You know we love our tips. We give several exercises and coping suggestions if you are struggling with this thought right now. Plus: another edition of Breakup Ballads: Toxic or Empowering? Interested in Messy Path, the podcast we recommend in this episode? Check them out here or wherever you listen to podcasts.
