Elyse Dickerson, co founder and CEO of Eosera, started as a dyslexic child who could barely read in front of her class and was branded as hopelessly below-average by her teachers. She learned how to cope with criticism and turn being different into being successful. She steeled herself in both mind and body, becoming a lifelong athlete in marathons, triathalons, and the Ironman competition. In time, Elyse eventually managed healthcare and pharmaceutical portfolios with annual revenues exceeding $1.7 billion and grew accustomed to being the one woman in a boardroom filled with suits and ties. Eventually, Elyse realized the world was full of underserved healthcare needs that might be too small to interest massive manufacturers but still afflicted millions of people. After countless hours spent interviewing healthcare professionals and everyday people, Elyse co-founded Eosera, Inc. and set her sights on creating a remedy for a condition that affects over 150 million people annually: earwax impaction. It might not be the most appetizing of topics, but sufferers experience feelings from severe annoyance to genuine fear of deafness, and existing products in the market were no more effective than tap water. Eosera devised the first breakthrough in the field in over 50 years, then made it affordable enough for anyone. Today, Eosera products are available online and in over 13K pharmacy and retail stores across the U.S. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/john-aidan-byrne0/support
