If you were brought up, like many of us were, that if you were bad, you were sent to bed without dinner or at minimum, dessert, it’s natural that you might use food as a reward for something that you don’t want to do, or to celebrate getting through a tough time. In this episode, we’re specifically exploring the phrase “I deserve it!” that so many of us use to justify eating in response to feeling resentful, or irritated, or some of the other instances when our brain offers us the thought, “I deserve it”
