Are We "Homeless"? with Dr. Stephan Poulter, PhD

Home is Within You - A podcast by Mind Body Spirit.fm - Fridays

Shame runs you out of your" home" - All of us struggle. So why is it that it seems we live in a society set on shaming those struggles, both within and around us? According to Dr. Stephan Poulter, author of The Shame Factor-Heal Your Deepest Fears and Set Yourself Free unless we become aware of what shame is, the symptoms, beginnings, emotional cycles, as well as how it hides and terrorizes us, and, most of all, how we can rewire ourselves and heal, we are all at risk of feeling 'homeless,' like I did. Here Dr. Poulter offers his childhood story, when shame was named, and what he did about it to find freedom and eventually work to help others. Dr. Poulter is a licensed clinical individual/family psychologist in private practice in West Los Angeles, CA, working with a multitude of psychological/life issues in a variety of settings (law enforcement, seminary) as well as for people of all ages, parents, step-parents, and couples. He has been providing professional mental health services to clients for over 35 years, has written several books, is a public speaker on parenting, adolescent and spiritual/psychology issues, and soon to be released book A New Masculinity, A Compassionate Guidebook to Male Mental Health.
