Running causes compression, so isn't running bad for your discs?  This is a common question we get here at RehabFix and we wanted to answer thoroughly! Running is not "bad" for your low back, but it can be sensitive.  Disc herniations can recover 100% without drugs or surgery through proper rehab. You can get back to running 100% if you struggle with disc issues. Running has actually been shown to improve disc health!  Disc herniations can heal, and in general running is totally safe for low back pain when managed appropriately with the right rehab plan! This is why we help people around the world with low back pain, disc herniations, or sciatica get back to running even better than before!
