Sciatica is inherently a loose term referring to any pain radiating down the back of the leg along the distribution of the sciatic nerve. This can be caused by numerous things but is most commonly related to disc herniation or sciatic nerve impingement. There are a few main causes for sciatica that are discussed in this episode to help you understand what the reason may be for your sciatica. We also discuss the most common movements that trigger sciatica and why this happens! Many people experience sciatica pain when bending forward while a lesser majority will experience this with bending backward or side to side. It's very important to understand the movements that will make your sciatica worse and make it better.
