"Musing" our way through life: motherhood ranting and nutrition chat

Move it Mama - The Sparkle Pod - A podcast by Move it Mama, Lisa Fong, Jessica Mizzi, Charlotte Twigg - Wednesdays

This podcast episode comes with a warning as we take a deep dive into nutrition, specifically around a book Leece is reading called 'Fast like a girl' by Mindy Pelz. If you suffer from any mental health conditions, especially eating disorders, body dysmorphia and poor body image, please consider whether you'd like to listen to this. To be honest, we're often reluctant to chat too much about diets and food 'fads', fasting included, because on the whole you know how we feel about 'diet culture' and all that entails. But because we are always open and honest with our community, we also don't want to shy away from this chat, if only to risk being misconstrued or taken in the wrong light. So, today's chat is largely focused on Leece's experience with this book (and an accompanying podcast), therefore where that leaves her today (and why), and all that's going on for her in terms of what she's learning through this process (let us caveat once again that Leece is on a journey to 'sorting' her hormones and isn't advocating for a life of guilt, restriction, diets, etc.). We chat a bit about the period disc, Taylor Swift, motherhood (mostly Jess just has a moment of weakness and moans for a bit) and we visit sparkle spread city before making our departure. So, take from this what you will, and most of all, please know that we come from a place of simply sharing in our experiences, as opposed to trying to make you do as we do. To each their own, as we all know. Thank you for listening.
