It’s Day 4, and you’re still here!  You can still sign up for the 5 Day Running Challenge by clicking here.   That’s awesome! Please take a minute and just say thank you to yourself for sticking to it and not giving up.  Just showing up everyday is more than half the battle. With this challenge, you are already proving to yourself that change is possible and that you can be consistent.  Commit to yourself, show up, put in the work, and anything is possible.   Yesterday you started to find some of your weak spots and see how they could be holding you back. If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the replay of our live training inside our challenge FB group here or on our challenge access page here.   Like you have heard us say this week, the most important piece of your success is YOU.  You need to learn how to train in a way that is right for YOU, YOUR body, YOUR goals, and YOUR lifestyle. If you follow generic plans or copy what you see others doing, you likely aren’t getting the results that you really want. You are an individual, and there’s no one else exactly like you, with your exact circumstances, so your training needs to fit into your life. It needs to be enjoyable (at least most of the time!) so that you’ll actually stick to it.     DAY 4: WORK THROUGH RESTRICTIONS  Today is all about getting unstuck. Physically, we are going to take a look at your mobility, which is the way that your body moves.  A lot of runners think they should be stretching to improve their stiffness and their running, but what you'll see today is that it's not about stretching, it's about mobility, which is more complex than just flexibility alone. Mentally, we are going to help you get unstuck by uncovering some of the mental restrictions that could be holding you back and taking a closer look at motivation and the things that we often do to self sabotage.   So many frustrated runners find themselves limited by inconsistency, often caused by pain, loss of motivation, or lack of time. They are often so busy taking care of others, running the kids around after school, helping people at work, taking care of aging parents, that they skip runs or workouts because they just can't seem to fit them in.  Or they're not feeling good on their runs, so they start to lose motivation to train. It's hard to stay motivated when everyday feels like a struggle. Or they don't really believe that their goal is possible. Think about it. If you think you’re just a slow runner, will you really do what is necessary to improve? Or will you likely sabotage yourself along the way, thinking it’s probably not even worth the effort?  What you believe has EVERYTHING to do with how you perform as a runner and the satisfaction that you feel with running.     Like a traveler on a journey, it's important for you to make time for your trip and figure out the purpose of your travel (or in this case, your running). When you get clear on WHY you're doing it, it's going to be much easier to stay consistent on those days you just don't feel like it. Let's dig in.
