With more than 300 days of sunshine and steady winds off the Mediterranean Sea, Pyrenees Mountains and the Massif Central, the region of Languedoc-Roussillon in southwest France’s “Occitania” has a prolific winemaking heritage. AOC Limoux, for example, is the birthplace of sparkling wine.
