The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the debut session on Harry Dunn's Standing My Ground: A Capitol Police Officer's Fight for Accountability and Good Trouble After January 6th. Dunn is a privileged black male and has served with the U.S. Capitol Police since 2008 - the same year Barack Obama became president. Dunn was present for the infamous January 6th, 2021 Terrorist attacks at the U.S. Capitol building and reports that he was repeatedly called racist slurs and forced to use counter-violence to keep himself and others safe. Later in 2021, Dunn testified before the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack. Standing My Ground was published just a few weeks ago at the end of October.
