The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the second session on Harry Dunn's Standing My Ground: A Capitol Police Officer's Fight for Accountability and Good Trouble After January 6th. Dunn is a privileged black male and has served with the U.S. Capitol Police since 2008 - the same year Barack Obama became president. Dunn was present for the infamous January 6th, 2021 Terrorist attacks at the U.S. Capitol building and reports that he was repeatedly called racist slurs and forced to use counter-violence to keep himself and others safe. Later in 2021, Dunn testified before the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack. Earlier this year, Standing My Ground was published. Last week, Dunn frequently switched perspectives during the introduction - employing "you," "we," and "I." This confused a number of readers and incorrectly suggests that there is unified perspective on certain issues. The former college football player incorporates a robust amount of profanity into his memoir, and many listeners critiqued the foul language and cited that as a reason to not share this material with young children. Dunn invests time detailing his gridiron days and his love of tackle football and entertainment. In fact, he said that while providing security for some of the most powerful White people in the world, he would be counting down the hours to getting back to his PlayStation video game console. #BlackPolice #MiriamICarey #TheCOWS15Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#
