The C.O.W.S. Vernon Burton Reneged

Professor Vernon Burton was our scheduled and confirmed guest for the program. He failed to honor his agreement. Two hours after our agreed upon broadcast time, he emailed to say that he turned his phone off and neglected to turn it back on. We were scheduled to discuss the history of Racism in South Carolina from Ben Tillman to Dylann Storm Roof. In his absence, Gus highlighted a few portions of Butler's book and discussed the corrosive impact of a non-white person having a White parent. Speaking of tragic arrangements, we also discussed the recent controversy regarding New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. They were involved in a tacky, Racist joke this past weekend.
