UnSprained S1 Episode 13: Cheaters gotta cheat. Hint: Cheating zoned get injured.

Un-Sprained - A podcast by Dr. Lisa Brin

Cheaters gotta cheat. It's not sexy, but let's say.... IF...you knew that you had a zone that was more likely to be injured... Would you actually want to know about it? Some of you say No, and climb on my friend. But many of you say YES, so I show the open door. Today we discuss the biggest 5 "cheats" that I see (even in PRO climbers) climbing technique. Positioning and compensations that go un-noticed could cost you your health. Join me as we discuss each, and as we play a fun game to brainstorm how to test and train the cheat out of each region. This fun game begins your journey to decrease your injury risks in each area. Just remember, you learn faster and improve more quickly if it is a game. So keep it fun, and you just might catch yourself doing one of these in the next two weeks in your training, your rehab, or your climbing. This week on Un-Sprained, we discuss: >> Why regional cheats are risky to your health. >> What role fascia plays in connecting our cheat areas to our weak zones. >> Why you testing and treating the area with the SAME TEST is a good thing. >> What the One-Joint Rule is for the low back and its safety. >> Why these cheats teach you something about your training plan or your approach to climbing (and your re-evaluations in real time). >> Common pains caused by cheating. >> And Much More! Supplemental Material: 1. Check out my article on the 5 technique cheats here: http://bit.ly/3X0RwdD 2. If you can't figure out why you are injured, check out my P.A.L method checklist: A MUST Listen if you have unsolvable pains that don't make sense, or a recurring injury that just won't heal.
