Why Changing Language is an Agile Process - Kory Stamper | 2020

Kory Stamper is an author and lexicographer who has been writing on language and change for over 15 years. She also delivered a timely and fascinating keynote at the Women in Agile 2020 online conference. What might seem like an insignificant and innocuous word to one person can be triggering and offensive to another.   Stamper discusses the common greeting “hey guys” and its significance to women in the workplace, as well as a recent petition to change “ScrumMaster” to another term not associated with a historical reference to the master-slave dynamic.
